Brett Miller is an executive search consultant and career advocate with more than two decades of experience in the Washington, DC market. He focuses on senior leaders and high-impact specialists working at the intersection of AI, cyber defense, national security, and advanced manufacturing, across industry, consulting, regulatory, and policy environments.

Brett first joined The McCormick Group in the 1990s and was instrumental in building the firm’s IT and telecommunications practice. He went on to hold roles at KPMG, Booz Allen, and three cybersecurity firms, deepening his understanding of complex technical domains and the way mission, risk, and compliance shape hiring decisions. He also holds a CMMC certification, enabling him to translate intricate security and regulatory requirements into clear talent and career strategies. Today, he has re-joined The McCormick Group as a leader in AI and cybersecurity search.

The AI practice is founded in the deeply held belief that senior candidates deserve real representation. Modern hiring is complex, opaque, and unforgiving. Employers field teams of recruiters, HR, compensation, and legal professionals; candidates are expected to navigate that system alone. Brett steps in as an “agent” for select leaders to level that playing field.

For a small, carefully chosen group of professionals, he provides discreet, hands-on advocacy: market mapping, targeted outreach, positioning and messaging, strategic interview preparation, and nuanced offer and compensation support. He helps candidates tell the right story to the right decision makers, at the right time—often accessing opportunities that never reach the open market.

For leaders pursuing a deliberate next step in their career, Brett offers a highly structured, strategic, and confidential process focused on designing an opportunity set that aligns with each candidate’s capabilities, mission focus, and long-term trajectory.
