Susanne H. Howard is a Principal in the Not-For-Profit/Association Practice of The McCormick Group. She specializes in the recruitment of executives and senior managers for associations, foundations, and nonprofit organizations. She also oversees the Communications Practice, conducting searches for communications positions for a diverse base of Fortune 500 companies, associations, and public relations firms. In addition, she provides a wide range of consulting advice, including strategic personnel planning.

Susanne has an extensive background in public and congressional relations. Prior to joining The McCormick Group, she held prominent positions in the federal government, most notably as Deputy Treasurer of the United States and as Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs. Susanne also served as the Executive Director of a 501(c)(3) foundation, and is co-author of Getting Started, a primer on how to start a citizen action group.

In addition to her professional commitments, Susanne is an active community and civil volunteer. She has served on the vestry of Grace Episcopal Church, on the Board of Directors for Grace Episcopal Day School and is an honorary member of The Twig, an Auxiliary of the Alexandria Hospital. She is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
