Leslie Sorg Ramsay, a Principal with The McCormick Group, oversees The McCormick Group's Human Resources practice area. Since joining The McCormick Group in 1993, Leslie has placed senior HR executives and specialists for established and startup corporations, professional services and consulting firms, and nonprofit organizations. She also has helped HR executives with crucial non-HR needs by introducing them to McCormick Group consultants. Leslie has placed professionals in domestic and international human resources, compensation, benefits, organizational development, organizational effectiveness, talent management, training and HRIS.
Leslie is active within the HR community. In addition to serving as a judge for the 2007 SHRM Awards, she was active for four years on the steering committee that helped to establish the Greater Washington DC HR Leadership Awards. She is an active member of the HR Leadership Forum, and chaired a panel, “Remaining Competitive in a Tight Marketplace,” for the Washington Area Compensation & Benefits Association.
Leslie was on the White House staff for three U.S. Presidents, managing projects ranging from communications, press strategy, lobbying efforts, and organizational effectiveness. She also held senior communications and marketing positions for national organizations, including the Professional Services Council and The Salvation Army. At the U.S. Information Agency, she managed programs for foreign leaders and worked with U.S. publishers on worldwide book distribution. She also arranged performances and promotions for musicians in 35 countries.
Leslie has written Congressional testimony, press releases, government reports and organizational procedures, as well as articles for industry journals and newspapers. She also is a published author of a 200-page book, Gifting Right that focuses on the needs of gift recipients, illustrating her commitment to customer service.
Leslie is President of the American Art League, a forum for exhibiting artists. She also is on the Board of Governors of the Arts Club of Washington and has served as Membership Chair, Promotion Chair, and Program Chair, where she arranged over 75 performances and cultural programs, involving dance, theater, and music from opera to jazz. Leslie graduated from The American University in Washington, D.C. with a concentration in marketing/communications.
