Leslie specializes in searches for human resource (HR) executives and specialists. As a leader in the Washington, DC, region’s HR community, she is highly knowledgeable about the field and has developed an extensive network of contacts. Leslie’s expertise benefits clients both because she is able to offer valuable business consulting services and because she is a seasoned recruiter of HR talent.
Leslie’s services touch all industries from law and financial services to government contracting. She works with established and start-up corporations, professional services and consulting firms, and not-for-profit organizations. Her experience includes placing professionals in domestic and international HR positions and in the areas of compensation, benefits, organizational development, organizational effectiveness, talent management, training, and HR information systems. Examples of representative engagements are: chief HR officer for international law firms, regional HR directors for “Big Four” accounting and consulting firms, vice presidents of HR for global and national technology companies and government contractors, North American HR directors for global manufacturers, and compensation consultants, leaders and specialists for national corporations and consulting firms.
Before joining The McCormick Group, Leslie was a member of the White House staff for three United States Presidents. She managed projects ranging from communications to press strategy to lobbying efforts to organizational effectiveness. She also held senior communications and marketing positions for national organizations, including the Professional Services Council and The Salvation Army. At the US Information Agency, she managed programs for foreign leaders and worked with US publishers on worldwide book distribution. She also arranged performances and promotions for musicians in 35 countries. Leslie has written Congressional testimony, press releases, government reports, and organizational procedures as well as articles for industry journals and newspapers. She also is a published author of the book, Gifting Right, which focuses on the needs of gift recipients.
Leslie is active within the HR community. In addition to serving
as a National judge for the 2007 and 2008 Society for Human Resource
Management (SHRM) Awards, she was a member of the steering committee
that helped to establish the Greater Washington DC HR Leadership
Awards. She is an involved member of the HR Leadership Forum and
chaired a panel, “Remaining Competitive in a Tight Marketplace,”
for the Washington Area Compensation & Benefits Association.
In addition, Leslie is active in the arts and Past President
of the American Art League, a forum for exhibiting artists, and
her own art has won awards. She also is a member of the Arts Club
of Washington and has served four years on the Board of Governors,
as Membership Chair, Promotion Chair, and Program Chair, where
she arranged over 75 performances and cultural programs, involving
dance, theater, and music from opera to jazz. Leslie graduated
from The American University with a concentration in marketing/communications.
